The Practice: Terms and Conditions
Modern Somatics | Effective date:Â July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and The Self Center LLC, doing business as Modern Somatics (“we,” “us,” “our”), about joining The Practice, our group somatic coaching membership. By checking the agreement box at checkout, creating an account, or using The Practice, you agree to them.
We wrote these in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us at [support email] before you join. If you don’t agree, please don’t join.
The short version
- The Practice costs $99 per month and renews automatically every month until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime online, with no phone call. You keep access through the end of the month you’ve paid for.
- All sales are final. Everything we offer is digital, so we don’t offer refunds (Section 6).
- Live calls are recorded so members can watch a replay. Joining a call means you consent to being recorded. You can listen without turning on your camera or microphone (Section 8).
- What other members share stays in the community (Section 9).
- The Practice is somatic coaching and education. It is not therapy, medical care, or professional advice (Section 13).
- Florida law applies (Section 21).
This summary is for convenience. The full terms below control.
1. Who can join
You must be at least 18 years old to join The Practice. Each membership is for one person. Please don’t share your login. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, and for giving us accurate information, including a working email address.
2. What your membership includes
Your $99 monthly membership includes:
- a monthly somatic theme, with daily practice prompts posted in a read-only channel in the community;
- a weekly live group coaching call, currently held on Mondays at 9:30 AM Eastern Time, on the schedule we post in the community;
- access to the members’ community, where you can share, ask questions, and connect with other members;
- access to the free courses and resources we make available to members; and
- the most recent live call replay. Only one replay is available at a time. When the next replay is posted, it replaces the earlier one. This is true for every member, including members who join late and members on a free trial.
The Practice is group coaching. The calls and community are shared with other members, so we can’t give individual advice, and we can’t promise to respond to every post or question or within a set time. We may change the days, times, format, or content of the calls and community. If we cancel a call, we’ll try to reschedule or replace it, but we don’t promise a specific number of calls each month.
Your membership does not include private or one-to-one coaching, the monthly Somatic Playbooks, or the Playbook archive (see Section 3).
3. Add-ons: Somatic Playbooks and private coaching
Somatic Playbooks. Each monthly theme is also available as a Somatic Playbook: that month’s call replays plus a Practice Guide. Playbooks are sold separately, one theme at a time, as one-time purchases. Buying a Playbook unlocks only that theme. We’ll share a link at the end of each month. An archive of past themes is sold separately. Playbooks are not part of your membership. Cancelling your membership doesn’t affect Playbooks you’ve already bought, and you don’t need to be a member to buy one.
You keep access to a Playbook you’ve bought for as long as we offer it. If we ever retire one, we’ll give you at least 60 days’ notice and, where the format allows, a way to download your copy.
A Playbook is licensed for your personal use, including sharing its practices one-to-one, informally, with people you support, such as family and friends. It does not include the right to use Playbook material in paid work with clients, in classes, groups, or trainings, or to resell or redistribute it. If a Playbook is offered for professional use, its page will say so and explain what is included.
Private coaching. Private one-to-one coaching (The Return) is a separate program with its own application and agreement. Membership in The Practice doesn’t include it. If a private coaching agreement conflicts with these terms, the private coaching agreement controls for that coaching.
4. Billing and automatic renewal
Price. The Practice costs $99 USD per month. If any taxes apply, they’ll be shown at checkout before you pay.
Automatic renewal. By joining, you authorize us and our payment processors to charge your payment method $99 when you sign up (or when your free trial ends) and again every month on the same date until you cancel. Your membership renews automatically each month until you cancel.
Free trial. If we offer a trial, the checkout page will state how long it is (currently 10 days) and the date of your first charge. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged $99 when it ends, and every month after.
Payment plans. We don’t currently offer payment plans or annual pricing for The Practice. If we add either, the full terms will appear at checkout before you pay.
Failed payments. If a payment doesn’t go through, we may try again, and we may pause your access until it does. You can update your payment method in your account.
Price changes. We may change the price of The Practice. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you. If you don’t want to pay it, cancel before it takes effect. If you stay, you accept the new price.
5. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time, for any reason. You don’t need to call anyone or explain.
Sign in to your member account and cancel under your subscription or purchase settings. If you can’t find it or something isn’t working, email [support email] from the address you joined with, and we’ll cancel it for you within one business day.
Cancelling stops future charges. Your membership stays active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for. To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date.
6. No refunds
All sales are final. Membership payments, Somatic Playbooks, and the archive are digital products. You can use them as soon as you have access, and they can’t be returned. For that reason, we don’t offer refunds, including for a partial month, an unused membership, or a product you’ve already accessed. This applies if you cancel mid-month, don’t use your membership, or change your mind. Please cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge, because we can’t reverse a charge once it has processed.
Try before you’re charged. If we offer a free trial, that’s your chance to try The Practice first. You can cancel any time before the trial ends and you won’t be charged.
Payment disputes. If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us first, and we’ll work with you to fix it. If a valid charge is disputed with your bank, we may end your access and share records of your purchase and use with the bank.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under applicable law that can’t be waived.
7. After you cancel, and if The Practice closes
When you cancel. Your access to the live calls, community, replay, and any courses included with membership ends when your paid period ends. Please save any notes or journal entries you want to keep. We can’t promise to keep membership materials available after that. Your account stays open so you can reach anything you’ve bought separately, such as Playbooks.
Your posts. Posts and comments you shared may stay visible in the community after you leave. You can ask us to remove them by emailing [support email].
Free courses. Courses we include with membership end when your membership ends. Courses we offer to the public for free stay under their own terms and availability, and we may change or remove them.
Coming back. You can rejoin anytime at the then-current price and terms. We don’t promise your old price, or access to anything that has since been replaced, including earlier replays.
If The Practice closes. If we decide to close The Practice, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email whenever we can. Billing will stop when the program closes. Where we can, we’ll keep your access open through the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Access to Playbooks you’ve bought is covered in Section 3.
8. Live calls, recordings, and replays
We record the calls. We record live calls so we can share replays with members. Florida law requires every person on a recorded call to consent. By joining a live call, you consent to us recording the call, including your voice, your image if your camera is on, and anything you say or type, and to us sharing the replay with current members in the member area. We’ll remind everyone at the start of each call.
If you’d rather not be recorded. You can listen without turning on your camera or microphone, send us your question ahead of time by email, or skip the call and watch the replay. If you appear in a replay and want to be removed, email us and we’ll edit you out where reasonably possible.
How we may use recordings. We may use recordings, including your questions and comments, to create replays, Somatic Playbooks, and other member materials. We won’t use your full name or contact details in them without your permission. We won’t use recordings in our public marketing without your separate written permission.
Your part. Please don’t record, screenshot, or share the calls or replays yourself. Replays are for members only, and for your personal use.
9. Confidentiality
The Practice works because people feel safe. What members share here is personal.
Keep other members’ stories private. Don’t share other members’ names, stories, posts, comments, photos, voices, or anything that could identify them, outside The Practice. That includes social media, other groups, and your own clients. What’s shared here stays here. What you learn, you’re free to take with you.
Your own story is yours. You’re free to talk about your own experience, what you’ve learned in your own words, and your honest opinion of The Practice, including reviews. Nothing in these terms stops you from doing that.
Our materials. Please don’t share our calls, replays, Playbooks, guides, course materials, or private messages from us outside the community (see Section 11).
What we can and can’t promise. We protect the information you give us as described in our Privacy Policy. The Practice is a group setting. It is not a private therapy or medical relationship, and we can’t promise that other members will keep what you share private. Please only share what you’re comfortable having other members know.
When we may share information. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or if we reasonably believe someone is in danger of serious harm.
If you’re a practitioner. Don’t post information that identifies your own clients. You remain responsible for your own professional confidentiality obligations.
10. Community rules and removal
We want this to be a kind and steady place. To keep it that way:
- Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or discrimination.
- Speak from your own experience. Don’t give medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice to other members, and never tell anyone to stop or change medication or treatment.
- Don’t sell, promote, recruit, or solicit members, including by private message, without our written permission.
- Don’t post spam, illegal content, or anything that identifies someone else without their permission, including your clients.
- Respect boundaries. If someone asks you to stop contacting them, stop.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, or claim to speak for us.
The community isn’t an emergency service, and we can’t monitor it around the clock. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. In the United States, you can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Removal. We may remove posts, mute you, or remove you from the community if you break these rules or if we believe your presence isn’t safe for other members. Serious or repeated violations lead to removal without a refund. We’ll usually tell you why, but we aren’t required to.
11. Intellectual property
What’s ours. The Practice and everything in it belongs to us or our licensors. That includes the calls and replays, prompts, courses, Somatic Playbooks, guides, worksheets, audio, video, PDFs, our methods and techniques, and our names, logos, and branding, including Modern Somatics and The Practice. They’re protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws, whether or not they’re registered.
What you can do. While you’re a member (or, for Playbooks, as described in Section 3), we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our content for your own personal, non-commercial use.
What you can’t do. Without our written permission, you may not:
- copy, record, screenshot, download (except where we provide a download), repost, publish, sell, rent, or share our content;
- share your login or let anyone else use your membership;
- create your own courses, trainings, certifications, or programs from our content or methods, or teach or present our methods as your own;
- upload our content to an AI tool, or use it to train or build an AI system; or
- remove any copyright or ownership notice.
Free content is still ours. This includes free courses, mini-courses, guides, PDFs, videos, lead magnets, posts, and anything else we give away. Free doesn’t mean public domain, or free to reuse. You’re welcome to use it for yourself and to share a link to it. Short quotes with credit to Modern Somatics and a link back are fine. Copying, repackaging, reselling, or posting the files or their text, or using them in your own programs, client materials, or products, requires our written permission.
Certification. Being a member or buying a Playbook doesn’t train or certify you in our methods. Please don’t say you’re certified, trained, licensed, or endorsed by Modern Somatics unless you’ve completed one of our certification programs and we’ve confirmed that in writing.
Feedback. If you share ideas or suggestions with us, we may use them without owing you anything.
If you break this section, we may end your access without a refund and take any legal steps available to us.
12. Your posts and testimonials
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting in The Practice, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share it inside the member community and to run the community. You promise that what you post is yours to share, and doesn’t break the law or anyone’s rights.
We won’t use your name, words, photo, voice, or story in our marketing, including as a testimonial, without your separate written permission. If we do, we’ll disclose any free access, discount, or other benefit you received.
13. Not therapy, not professional advice
Coaching and education only. The Practice offers somatic coaching and education. It is not psychotherapy, counseling, or medical treatment, and it is not a substitute for any of them. We don’t diagnose, treat, or cure any physical or mental health condition, including trauma, anxiety, depression, or chronic pain. Joining The Practice doesn’t create a therapist–client, doctor–patient, or any other professional–client relationship.
No professional advice. Nothing we say, write, or teach is medical, mental health, legal, financial, tax, or other professional advice. Please talk to a qualified professional about your own situation. If you’re a practitioner, stay within your own training, license, and scope of practice. Nothing here authorizes you to work outside it.
Your body, your pace. Somatic practices can bring up strong sensations, emotions, or memories. You’re in charge of your participation. Go at your own pace, skip anything that doesn’t feel right, and stop if you feel unwell or overwhelmed. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, are in treatment, or aren’t sure a practice is right for you, check with your healthcare provider first. Don’t stop or change any medication or treatment because of anything in The Practice.
Emergencies. If you are in crisis or in danger, call 911. In the United States, you can also call or text 988. The Practice can’t provide emergency support.
“As is.” To the fullest extent the law allows, The Practice and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise that the platforms we use, such as our course platform, video tools, and payment processors, will always work without interruption.
14. Results and earnings
We don’t promise results of any kind. People respond differently, and nothing in our marketing or programs is a guarantee that you’ll heal, feel a certain way, reach a goal, or gain any particular benefit.
We don’t make income or earnings claims about The Practice or the Somatic Playbooks. If you’re a practitioner, the Playbooks are educational tools. We don’t promise they’ll bring you clients, income, or business growth. Your results depend on your own training, skills, effort, market, and other things we can’t control.
Stories and testimonials we share reflect one person’s experience. They aren’t a prediction of yours. If we ever share income or measurable results, we’ll base them on real data and explain what’s typical.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: (a) we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost income, profits, or data, arising out of or related to The Practice or our content; (b) our total liability for any claim related to The Practice is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event that gave rise to the claim; and (c) you are responsible for your own decisions and actions, and for how you use what you learn.
Some laws don’t allow certain limits, so these apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Self Center LLC (doing business as Modern Somatics), its owner Shandra Artura, and its contractors from claims, losses, and reasonable legal fees that arise from your breach of these terms, what you post, your misuse of The Practice or our content, or your violation of any law or anyone’s rights. This doesn’t apply to the extent a claim results from our own gross negligence or willful misconduct. We’ll tell you about a claim promptly, and you agree to cooperate with us in handling it.
17. Events outside our control
We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. That includes natural disasters and severe weather (including hurricanes), power or internet outages, failures of the platforms or payment processors we use, illness, injury, or emergency affecting us or our team, cyberattacks, pandemics, government actions, and war. If this affects a live call, we’ll try to reschedule or replace it. If it stops us from delivering The Practice for more than 30 days in a row, you may cancel, and we’ll stop billing you.
18. When we can end your access
We may suspend or end your access right away if you break these terms or the community rules, if you don’t pay, if you share your login or our content in ways these terms don’t allow, if you use The Practice unlawfully, or if we believe your participation creates a safety concern. We don’t provide refunds when we end your access. If we end your membership for a reason other than a rule violation or non-payment, we’ll stop billing you. The sections about ownership, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability, indemnification, and disputes continue to apply after your access ends.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and change what The Practice includes, from time to time. If a change is significant, we’ll email you or post it in the community at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can cancel before the change begins. If you continue after it takes effect, you accept the updated terms. The terms in place when you made a purchase apply to that purchase.
20. Assignment
You may not transfer your membership or these terms to anyone else without our written permission. We may transfer these terms, including if we sell, merge, or restructure the business. If that happens, we’ll let you know.
21. Disputes and governing law
Florida law. These terms, and any dispute related to The Practice, are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Talk to us first. Most problems can be solved with a conversation. Before starting any legal action, please email us at [support email] and give us 30 days to work it out with you in good faith.
Where disputes are heard. If we can’t resolve a dispute, it must be brought in the state or federal courts located in or serving Brevard County, Florida, and you and we both consent to those courts’ jurisdiction and venue.
Nothing in this section takes away any consumer rights you have under laws that can’t be waived.
22. General terms
Privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, and is part of this agreement. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. We’ll still send account, billing, and program messages.
Entire agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy, and any terms on a specific product page are the whole agreement between us about The Practice.
If part of it doesn’t work. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we haven’t given it up.
Electronic notices. You agree we can send notices and agreements to you electronically, by email or in the member area. Please keep your email address current.
Third-party platforms. We use third-party platforms to deliver The Practice. Their terms may also apply to your use of them.
No third-party rights. These terms are between you and us. No one else can enforce them.
